Hmmm..

So we are officially home from visiting our families. We had a wonderful time with our family, but glad to be home.

We first visited Shaug, Amy and baby Grey, who's not so much a baby anymore as he is growing super fast. I got to try my hand at all the baking I learned over these past few weeks. Over the 6 day break I made a Buche de Noel, Challah bread, Sourdough Bread, Chocolate Cream Pie and churros. It was great to share my new passion of baking with my family.

After visiting Amy and Shaug for a couple of days, we made our way down to Fresno to see my family. We met my sister's new fiance and spent some time all together for the first time in almost a year. Korina was able to go with my sisters to find a wedding dress for my sister. After a nice long visit, it was nice to head on home to re-establish our lives here.

Korina and I had a nice long talk last night about what exactly I want to do after class. I graduate in May and I get the million dollar question practically everyday because I work in the campus store. "What do you want to do when you graduate?" It rings in my ears for hours after I hear it escape the mouth of a curious customer. The toughest part of it all is that I have no idea what I want to do. I know that I do not want to stay in the back of the kitchen, but I am not sure where to head right after school in May. What most likely will happen is that I will work back of house in a kitchen to establish my resume. We are looking for an area where I can not only make more of a name for myself, but also be able to pay off some school loans and save up some money for relocation. If this works here in the Napa Valley, then we will definitely stay here, but if it is somewhere else, then that is where we are going. This should make for a good story...we shall see! ;)

Sorry there aren't any photos, I will add some once we get some!

  1. Thank you for sharing your awesome baking skills with us. My favorite was the chocolate cream pie! We'll be praying for some clear direction for you & we'll try not to push our own agenda too hard ;)
